Collective Grants

In areas where large numbers of serving personnel are stationed, schools often have a high percentage of service pupils.  While the attendance of service children is generally higher than for non-service children, the higher mobility of these children can lead to different emotional and educational needs. This group of children are far more likely to have a parent away for an extended period of time, often in high risk environments.

Collective grants are given to schools and education authorities to benefit a group of service children in a school or group of schools where pupil premium has already been committed to other initiatives and additional funding (eg from MOD) is not available.
